Thinking of Insurance

I was looking at my bank statement the other day and getting quite annoyed with the amount that I was paying for insurance. I never need to use it and I was wondering if I really needed all of it or whether I was wasting my money.

Then I got to thinking, how much are my personal belongings worth? Just the dvds would be a couple of thousand. Then there is the computer stuff, electrical … the list goes on. I realized just how important my home insurance is because if anything ever happened then trying to replace everything would take years of savings. While I dont own where I am living I know if I did then no matter how hard it was to afford, I would have to have the home insurance.

I cant remember who the advertiser was but once upon a time we used to have tv ads for car insurance where it was a bit like dominoes, the accident would start and it would roll on to different thing.Car rolls down hill, damages parked car, letter box, pole and through someones house and it turned out their insurance paid for the damage. Kind of reinforced the whole having car insurance idea.

The only insurance I dont have is life insurance but I get it automatically through my superannuation. Dead I am worth a lot and it also covers disability and incapacity.
