And still on the theme of Disclosure Policies

It seems poor old PayPerPost can’t win with Techcrunch criticising their new Disclosure Policy website from which i got my earlier posted Disclosure Policy that i posted.

Its a strange thing to read this article. Having read some of the more important members of the blogsphere and their opinions on PayPerPost one of the points that most harped on was the fact that there is nothing forcing participating bloggers to disclose that they are doing a paid post and i would have thought that the encouragement to use a disclosure policy even though not compulsory would have been a good thing. Sure even a non legally minded person like myself thinks that some of the wording in the policies could have been better but at least it is a step in the right direction for those wanting greater disclosure and transparency in blog posts. Its certainly a step ahead of some of the other companies offering the same thing that haven’t made a move towards the idea yet.

Oh well. If nothing else when someone like TechCrunch jumps up and down on them PayPerPost while feeling hurt must love it. An influx of new visitors to their site and even if one in one hundred signs up then it must mean a fair quantity of new sign ups. And they don’t even have to pay for the advertising, its all free. They got to love that!
